Passion with Paws - Walk a Week with Us

About the Author

Therapy dogs in schools have many benefits. They not only provide support for students but can also be a support and comfort to staff and the wider community. The number one benefit with the initiative of a therapy dog is student wellbeing. Therapy dogs in schools can reduce anxiety, provide emotional support, increase student engagement as well as provide unconditional love to many.

Daisy-Anne and Mickey have completed hours of training to be therapy dogs. Through my journey from never wanting to own a dog to now having two delightful therapy dogs, it led me to write a book or two.

My first book, Walk a Week with Us is an engaging children’s story to allow many to understand what a work day and a home day can look like for these special dogs. It was written with my youngest daughter Zoe. We are passionate about sharing Daisy-Anne and Mickey’s love, one paw at a time.

The book came to life when Alessia, my illustrator, converted the words in my emails to the images in my mind. The book slowly came to life, one page at a time. Alessia lives in Italy so all our correspondence has been through emails. It has been an incredible adventure, and I am grateful for the magic we have both created in this book.

I have other books in the pipeline which have been cathartic in my healing from the traumatic events over the past few years. I hope through what I have learnt and lived through, that I can inspire and help others to walk through the pain to find their light again.

Find your people. Find your passion. This will lead you to your purpose and a reason to get out of bed in the morning. People, Passion, Purpose = Your life goals. BUT, if you can’t see that at this minute, just tell yourself, Just Get Through Today.
