After a traumatic event at the end of 2020, that I never saw coming, a new me began to embark on an unknown path. I was never going to own a dog! In September 2021, we welcomed Daisy-Anne to her forever home.

Never in a million years did I ever think I would have graduated from the inaugural nationally accredited course as a dog handler. I went on a council dog walk for the first time in 2021, which led Daisy-Anne and myself on this incredible journey. New adventures and doors have opened for us.

I appreciate my dear friend Helen, for planting the seed by putting the idea of Daisy-Anne becoming a therapy dog in my mind. Daisy-Anne has blessed our home. She was named after my late, dear friend Anne Marie, a dog lover, who'd be looking down on me and encouraging me every step of the way.

Thank you to my family and friends who walked, cried, listened, carried, and encouraged me to bloom.

My children, Felicity, Jamason and Zoe have survived this brokenness with me, helped revive me, and encouraged me to thrive in this journey. You three are why I live and why I continue to have the courage and resilience to push through life’s challenges.

Daisy-Anne has transformed our home with pawfect love. She melts our hearts every day and lifts the hearts and souls of many one paw at a time.

Life is certainly challenging. In 2022, another traumatic event stopped me in my tracks! From someone who was never going to own a dog, in October we welcomed Mickey to his forever home. He is delightful and is following in his sister’s pawprints. Two therapy dogs to share their love with many.

To all who have been broken, the light always shines through the cracks. You just need time to repair, rebuild and revive.
